About Unity Ridge
Unity Ridge is our family farm, established in 2001 located in the rolling hills capitol of Kentucky.
We have always had a cattle operation, but in the winter of 2023, we, as a family, made the decision to start raising the cattle for beef and began the process to sell to you.
Our family advocates for buying local, especially from farmers as we value having confidence in our food sources.
We are eager to be your family’s farmer, providing your family with premium quality beef while supporting our pursuit in ethical sustainability.

Our Aim
Here at Unity Ridge, our family is deeply committed to consistently providing your family with quality beef. We genuinely care about being stewards of our land and livestock, which have been entrusted to our care by God. We ask for your support in our family’s efforts to be independent from corporations and be confident in our food sources.
History of Our Food System
how did we get to where we are trying to back track?
For years we ate like our ancestors did - whatever they could get locally from their surroundings, but society shifted when the Industrial Revolution happened. Our diet became based on convenience as we began running to developing cities and the hectic rhythms presented a lack of time. This is when we gave up our control over our food sources by delegating our basic responsibility of feeding ourselves to corporate and government agencies and trusting in strangers who think food is a 'product line' to decide what's on our family's table. Industry was never able to produce commercially; therefore, fast food and supermarkets took over. Where the food contains ingredients we cannot pronounce and have never even heard of (different MSGs, additives, preservatives, faux sweeteners, antibiotics, emulsifying agents, colorings, etc). Where corporations focus on the package to attract you and me more than the quality of the food.
-
This is why Unity Ridge is aiming to recover local agriculture, local food processing, and local distribution.

What can we do?
Be Independent from Corporations
Why?
We want to bring back the days where it was simply the farmer and consumers. Being able to raise, process, and buy locally gives us our power back from being at the mercy of a corporate food pyramid. We believe knowing and supporting your local farmer is one of the only avenues to carrying out our ancestors way of doing things.
Supporting Our Local Community
In a time where the supply chains aren’t consistently steady, with riots, strikes, and halts at the ports, etc. it is beyond comforting to know when you open your freezer door, there will be pounds of fresh beef in a variety of cuts. It’s an added bonus that you purchased it from a farmer you know personally and can trust.
We, farmers, need your support. By working to be independent from corporations, we are able to help not only our farm, but other local businesses.
Be Confident in Your Food Source
WHY?
When you go to the grocery store, you have no idea where your food comes from, how it was raised, handled, processed, packaged, nor what chemicals were added. This should not be the standard. Real food does not and should not come with an ingredient list you do not trust. You should have confidence in the food you eat.
Did you know that most meat at the grocery store is not even from this country? Did you know that your hamburger is usually a mix of several cattle? Did you know that the meat is typically days to weeks old, sometimes even months if frozen? There is not a standard system for food dating in the United States, which means meat freshness is not a concern. The dates on meat at the grocery are simply a recommendation, more for the retailers than the consumers, due to not having a uniform guideline.
Therefore, eliminating the feedlots, packers, and grocery stores guarantees you the best quality meat. It's time to get back to traditions of our ancestors, using real ingredients, and simple living. By being more conscious of the quality and freshness of our food sources you can ensure the safety of your food.
If you know your farmer, you can trust your food. Simple as that!!
It's time to...
get back to the basics that have been lost over the last few generations
make our families and health our priority
realize we cannot rely on corporations for our food sources
take back our power to decide what's on our family's dinner table
